5 Cafes In Malaysia To Dine At This Coming Christmas

Christmas Time is Here ~

Wreaths of tinsel and pine and holly, red and green decorations strung across the walls, and Mariah Carey’s festive voice blasting through the speakerphones…yep. It’s that time of year again, alright!

The arrival of December this 2020 has once again brought with it one of the most yearly beloved occasions of all – Christmas Day. And sure, the year hasn’t exactly treated us well so far, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a turnaround this coming holiday and give ourselves the Christmas break we all need and deserve.

And of course, what Christmas break is complete without an obligatory Christmas Feast to keep us happy and satisfied over the holiday season?

For those simply bursting with upcoming Christmas cheer and hoping to kick start the festivities with a delicious meal, here’s a list of 5 Cafes in Malaysia to Eat At For Christmas!

So sing songs, live long, and be merry!

(…but if you’re going to eat a Christmas meal, don’t forget to bring a mask with you, wash your hands thoroughly and regularly, be mindful of current safety regulations, and opt for delivery as much as you can! This has been a Cool Bears PSA.)

1. KAKIYUKI

Who doesn’t love sweets and desserts during Christmastime?

At KAKIYUKI, a popular Japanese Shaved Ice Dessert Bar with outlets in Petaling Jaya, Mid Valley, Bukit Bintang, Mont Kiara, Cheras, Penang, and Johor Bahru, you can get a festive variety of some of the sweetest and cutest treats from Japan – some of which are specifically catered towards the holidays.

With the coming of the Christmas months, so too has KAKIYUKI introduced an array of charming Christmas treats all themed for the season. Among these holiday treats is their Snow White Daifuku Roll: a delicious white sponge with a chewy cranberry cheese daifuku centre, all accented by the red and white colours of Christmas.

Even cuter (and also coincidentally aligned with our own brand) is their Beary Berry Merry Christmas Trifle; which is an adorable layered treat comprising blackcurrant jelly, custard pudding, fresh strawberries, white chocolate cream and, perhaps best of all, topped with the cutest bear-shaped Dango.

How adorable!

But these are barely all the treats KAKIYUKI has made available this Christmas season. They’re also serving such delights as the Chocolate Mint Kakigori (a shaved ice treat sweetened with chocolate mint sauce, brownies, and hazelnut), adorable Cinnamon Apple Daifuku (a chewy mochi filled with caramel, cinnamon mousse, and apple jam all shaped into a small round apple), and more.

The kicker, though? Most of these Christmastime desserts are only available for a limited time during the holiday season.

So be sure to get yours while you can!

Fans of good sandwiches, coffee, and overall breakfast foods will be delighted by this cozy café tucked in Petaling Jaya.

Good Blue Men has a menu that focuses predominantly on tasty sandwiches, as well as a selection of coffee mocktails. Most of the said sandwiches are made to satisfy an Asian palate – with signature selections ranging from Tom Yum Fish, Kam Heong Chicken, and more.

Not to mention, Good Blue Men also offers all-day breakfast meals composed of foods like baked potatoes, chicken sausage, and scrambled eggs among many others (who says you can’t have breakfast for lunch and dinner?)

But Good Blue Men isn’t all just sandwiches, coffee, and having breakfast beyond breakfast hours. Their menu also comes with heartier meal options like rice bowls, western foods, and even sweet desserts such as Matcha cakes and brownies to name a few.

Even better, Good Blue Men has brought back their Sharing Feast for the Christmas season – for just RM65, you can order a delicious, filling Christmas meal of a whole roast chicken, butter fragrant rice, coleslaw, and a dish of assorted vegetables.
