The Wei-Ling Gallery has established itself as the largest commercial gallery in Malaysia.

It has, for 17 years, nurtured the contemporary art scene in Malaysia. It has played a vital role in introducing Malaysian contemporary art to the international stage, along with showcasing homegrown Malaysian artists in their galleries.

2. Richard Koh Fine Art

The gallery was founded in 2005 and promotes Southeast Asian contemporary art on regional and international platforms.

The gallery aims to help understated artists who show promise with their works in order to help them grow.

RKFA has regular exhibition cycles, print & digital publications and cross-border gallery collaborations.

They also engage with the art community in hopes to develop regional and intercultural dialogue.

3. Artemis Art

The Artemis art gallery started collecting art way back in the mid-1990s. The idea of the gallery stemmed after a trip to Yogyakarta where the founders saw the contemporary art showcased there.

Today, the gallery, located in the Publika Mall in KL, showcases works from young Malaysian artists and emerging Indonesian artists, while gradually showcasing more art from artists around the region.

4. OUR ArtProjects

OUR ArtProjects was founded as an art consultancy, but they now have a gallery at an old 1950s era shop-house in Kampung Attap.

A typical exhibition program in this gallery would contain works that explore socio-cultural issues, conceptual experimentation, political commentary, aesthetics and processes, as well as art history by way of its curatorial agenda and ambition.

The gallery is all for risk-taking, experimentation and scholarship in contemporary art.

The gallery aims to introduce Malaysian and Southeast Asian modern and contemporary art to the global art scene.

5. Pipal Fine Art

This art gallery was established by husband and wife team, Hoe Say Yong and Angie Lee.

They’re both well known in the local art scene having already established another art gallery called Artfolio back in 1991.

The idea for their current gallery, Pipal Fine Art, came when they noticed that their previous gallery mostly catered to senior artists.

Pipal Fine Art showcases works from all generations of artists and their all accessible in this walking gallery!
