Located opposite Bangsar Village 2, this restaurant attracts long lines every lunch time despite its simple & humble exterior & interior, don’t be fooled as the banana leaf they serve is top-notch!

Once you order their banana leaf dish, it’ll come with rice, 3 vegetables, your choice of curry and your choice of meat. The choice of meat ranges from chicken, mutton, fish, prawns and squid. But of course there are vegetarian options too. 

Prices vary from the meat options chosen but it’s approximately RM13 per person.

2. Aunty Manju’s (TTDI, KL)

A hidden banana leaf gem, Aunty Manju’s is where it’s at when one is finding banana leaf in TTDI. 

One of the reasons Aunty Manju’s lands on this list? It’s because they serve 4 vegetarian sides compared to the usual 3 sides. 

Also a highly recommended dish to order from them is their mutton bone marrow curry, cooked to the point of the meat turning so delectable & tender, it’ll melt right in your mouth. You’ll definitely be coming back for this dish at RM6.50 per Bone Marrow!

Prices start at RM8.50 for a basic banana leaf meal but will increase if you add-on more sides & dishes.

3. Devi’s Corner (Bangsar, KL)

Anyone who has a night out in Bangsar will know this place very well. 

Yes, it’s that Devi’s Corner where red-faced and slightly (definitely) inebriated folks gather to end the night (or start the morning) with a plate of maggi goreng or a soothing steamy cup of teh tarik.

4. Kanna Curry House (PJ)

A contender with Devi’s Corner, Kanna Curry House also serves up a mouth-watering crab curry infused with a secret blend of herb & spices. 

Being one of the more affordable places serving banana leaf in KL, a basic banana leaf package will run you about RM7. If you choose a meat side, it’ll cost you a little more, around RM11-17.

Another customer favourite dish is their mutton varuval, mutton cooked to tender perfection and enhanced with the perfect amount of spices. If deep-fried meat is more your thing, many reviews have stated that Kanna Curry House has one of the best fried chicken, squid and fish! 

With so many franchises open, there’s no wonder why Kanna Curry House is a favourite amongst the PJ folks!
