0

I’d like to think that almost everyone on the planet would always enjoy dessert, no matter the time or place. If you don’t like desserts then that’s fine, it’s your choice (I’m not saying you’re right but to each their own). Well, this article is going to be filled with desserts so read on if you want to find out the best places to get desserts, specifically cakes, more specifically the cheesecake category of cakes, in Malaysia!

A little bit of history on cheesecakes before we start, cheesecakes have been around for centuries and the earliest mention of it was by the Greek physician Aegimus in the 5th century BCE. Thus, cheesecakes originate from Ancient Greece. They used to just mix crushed eggs and cheese, baked and served warm. Nowadays, cheesecakes typically consist of cream cheese, eggs, sugar, a graham cookie bottom and other ingredients based on an individual’s preference. You could even learn how to bake or cook if you want to try it yourself.

So you’re just sitting at home and waiting out the pandemic but suddenly you’re craving a cheesecake. Or maybe you have a special day coming up and the perfect cake for the event would be a cheesecake and you just don’t want to risk going out to get it. Fret not, the cheesecake stores I’ve listed today offer you in-store and online purchases in Malaysia, specifically KL and Selangor.

2. Purple Monkey & Pasta OHSEM

Purple Monkey can be found at any Pasta OHSEM stores. I have personally tasted both the food from Pasta OHSEM and a cheesecake from Purple Monkey and they are delicious. The cheesecake that I got was a frozen Mini Monkey, Sinful Mango. The cookie crust at the bottom complements the cheesecake very well and the fruit on top is a very refreshing touch to the cake. They’re just the right amount of sweet and even enough to share with a friend (but hey, I ate it by myself and I did not feel one bit of guilt).

They actually specialize in frozen cheesecakes and it’s perfectly suitable for people who enjoy an icy treat. Also, most of their cakes are topped with fruits like their Peaches to Riches and Strawberry Hills. Their other options include Matcha Green Tea, Toblerone Dark Chocolate and Salted Caramel. But it’s not just limited to those, you have to check out their website to see more! I guarantee you that you’d love these icy cheesecakes in Malaysia.

3. Delectable By Su

Delectable was established in 2009 by Su-Yin. She is a very adorable woman with a passion for making beautiful and delicious cakes. Their store consists of many types of cakes that would be suitable for any occasion, especially birthdays. However, fair warning that it might be hard to cut into their cakes because of how beautiful they are. The cakes at Delectable range from the mouth-watering Praline Espresso Cake to the rich and creamy Classic Baked Cheesecake.

Speaking of cheesecake, here’s one that I’ve rarely seen in Malaysia, a Tim Tam Cheesecake. For those who have sort of a nostalgic memory with Tim Tams, you should definitely try this cake. This is a double chocolate, no-bake cheesecake with a chocolate crust and chocolate top, topped with Tim Tams! So, if you’re craving some Tim Tams on a cheesecake, you can get this cheesecake delivered right to your doorstep or you could visit one of their cafes. They have cafes and kiosks in Seputeh (Glasshouse) and in Mid Valley City (The Gardens Mall). You’d have to order at least one day in advance if you want it delivered but if you don’t want to wait, give them a visit!

4. Eat Cake Today

Now, this is the haven of cheesecakes (they have other cakes and desserts too but what’s the title of this article?). The reason why I call them a haven is because they provide cheesecakes from various stores and they have a variety of flavour too! It’s like your one-stop-shop for any cheesecake you could ever want. From the classic burnt cheesecake from Ennoble by Elevete to a jaw-dropping 8-inch Mars Bar Cheesecake by Souka. There are so many categories of cakes from different stores to choose from. It’s like cheesecake hunting without needing to hunt.

Eat Cake Today has been operating online for a while now. They have flexible delivery times, contactless payments and they can deliver anywhere in Malaysia! But if you feel like you can’t wait for the delivery, you can simply check out their cake hub in Starling Mall, Petaling Jaya. Although, you may have to check out their website because I hear that they’re relocating soon. Nonetheless, this is one of the best places to get the cheesecake you need in Malaysia.
