KL At Night: Best Places To Hang Out With Your Friends In Kuala Lumpur

0

A lot of people, especially teens and young adults, prefer to hang out in the city at night. This is the time everyone is off work and wants to let off some steam. So the best way to do that is to have a nice night out with your friends or even on your own and enjoy yourself. Aside from being the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur is known for being a lively place. You can find pubs, shisha restaurants and places you could simply sit, relax and enjoy KL at night.

Before we get into the list of places you can visit at night in KL, I want to share a few tips to enjoy your day or make your day better.

Making Your Day Better

There are a lot of challenges in our everyday lives, especially with our country trying to go through a pandemic. However, whether you’re at home or anywhere else, there is always going to be a way to cheer yourself up. There are two ways that I personally go with, in cheering myself up.

The first option is for me to get some of my favourite snacks, some drinks and I bundle up on my bed and put on a good movie or show. Depending on your preferences, you could even sit in your room with your favourite cup of tea or coffee and read the book you’ve been putting off. Just do anything you’ve wanted to do in the comfort of your own home. You could even blast your favourite songs and do some cleaning.

But if you’re sick of staying home, the second option is to call up your friends and spend the night out. Considering the SOPs we have to follow, we’re a bit restricted but you could still plan a fun night. One thing that is a little therapeutic for a lot of people is when you get to see your friends and chill together.

That being said, here are a few spots to hang out with your friends in KL at night:

Sahara Tent

Sahara Tent is a very chill spot, located in Jalan Ampang and a couple of other locations, to hang out with your friends. The one in Jalan Ampang is connected to Thai Village as well so you can order either Arab or Thai food that could satisfy your taste buds. They also provide shisha for anyone who wants to destress and unwind with their friends in KL at night. Sahara Tent offers a variety of food choices on their menu. That includes Kabsa chicken, lamb biryani, Sahara Chicken, falafel and also lamb kebabs. You could eat, enjoy the shisha and relax with your friends.

Similar to Central Market, Petaling Street is a historic and busy place. Commonly known as the Chinatown of KL, Petaling Street offers a variety of souvenir shops, food and beverage stalls that sell good authentic food as well as other shops that sell clothes, jewellery and more. It may not seem alive during the day but at night, Petaling Street comes to life with beautiful lights and a lively atmosphere. Perfect for browsing with your friend on a night out in KL.

Tapak Foodtruck

One thing that a lot of us have in common is we love food. And what’s better than an area that is designated for food trucks? Yes, there are a lot of restaurants in malls too but there’s something different about being outdoors, surrounded by various food trucks. Located in both KL and Selangor, Tapak Urban Street Dining is the haven for anyone who loves street food. Starting with an idea born from three close high school friends who share that love for street food, they established Tapak in 2016. Plan a night out with your friends and enjoy street food with Tapak.
