1. Cruise Tasik Putrajaya
There is no better way to start off your expedition in Putrajaya than by taking a cruise while capturing the breathtaking views of the city. 2. Taman Botani Putrajaya
The Taman Botani is the largest botanical garden in Malaysia, covering an area of 92 hectares and is home to over 700 different species of exotic plants and flowers such as the Kesinai Tree, Baobab or Adansonia Digitata and a beautiful collection of Herbaceous. It also houses some of the oldest species of plants known to mankind such as the Cycas/Japanese Sago Palm, which has been in existence since 230 million years, and the Bodhi tree which is regarded as sacred by its Hindu and Buddhist followers.
There is also a tropical rainforest canopy which connects a pathway of rainforest trees. Along with walking through the canopy, you can also hike up to Penang Hill.

3. Wetlands Park
One of the top places to visit in Putrajaya, the Putrajaya Wetlands is the largest freshwater wetlands created by man, spanning over 2000 hectares. It comprises of the Wetlands Park and wetland areas, and serves important functions such as preventing floods during stormy weathers by retaining and spreading water, and water filtration where toxic substances are removed through chemical processing. The park is home to various species of living organisms, sustaining a high rate of biodiversity due to its ecosystem and is even a popular site for researchers.
More than 100 species of birds can be spotted all over the wetlands from owls, storks, pelicans and swans. You can observe them up close or even climb all the up to the lookout tower for a bird’s eye view.
Apart from birdwatching, the park also offers recreational activities, fishing, and water sports. Moreover, you can go through nature trails, explore the plant nursery, or rent a bike for a ride along the park.

4. My Balloon Fiesta
Moving on from nature, if you are planning on visiting Putrajaya around March, then you must check out the annual hot air balloon festival, or #myballoonfiesta which will take place between 19th -22nd March 2020.
The festival celebrates its 11th anniversary this year, and the event will comprise of many exciting activities such as launching field access where you can get entry into the balloon zone, and observe the pilots set up and inflate the balloons, the tethered ride where you are launched 60 ft. in the air for upto 7 mins, and finally the Night Glow Show where you can just witness all the balloons beautifully lit up against the night sky following the music.
Apart from hot air balloon rides, there are also plenty of other activities including cultural performances, balloon workshops and a variety of food trucks to feast. The best part? Entry is free of charge!

5. Horse Riding @ Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya
If sports are more your forte than you would love the Putrajaya Equestrian Park, a horse riding school which provides riding lessons at reasonable prices at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
The park also offers group riding lessons with a trained instructor, and you can even rent a horse or pony for a limited amount of time. Moreover, you can also take a tour of the stables, or go for joy rides which are especially fun for children.

6. Rock Climbing @ Taman Cabaran
If you are into extreme sports then be sure to visit Taman Cabaran or the Putrajaya challenge park where you can check out the mountain bike trails, skate and thrill park, and of course its main attraction, the Indoor Rock Wall Climbing Complex. All the facilities are well managed and provide options based on your skill level.
The Indoor climbing complex is built inside a 2,100 sq.ft. gymnasium and comprises of several rock climbing walls, and 6 zones based on expertise level, along with a separate climbing wall for children made up of thick sponges. Taman Cabaran is definitely among the best places to visit in Putrajaya.

7. Muzium Alam Semula Jadi
Finally, if you’re fascinated with history then add Muzium Alam Semulajadi or the Natural History Museum, Putrajaya to your list as here you will find an exhibition and documentation of Malaysia’s natural heritage including rocks, minerals, fossils and other geological specimens as well as large collections of flora and fauna.
There is a mammal exhibition on the ground floor, and another exhibit displaying unique species of insects including moths, butterflies and beetles. The museum also boasts an impressive collection of stuffed animals such as the Malaysian Sun Bear, Asian Elephant, Sumatran Rhinoceros, squirrels and otters amongst others.
