Pizza. That one word makes all our mouths water. It’s a divine dish. Though the dish was made in Italy, it became popular after the Italians migrated to the States. Americans did have cheese on their bread but it’s nothing like they’ve ever seen before. The crusty pizza dough with the melted mozzarella cheese and creamy marinara sauce. We looked through many reviews and recommendations before we picked the Top 5 Places To Get The Best Pizza In Malaysia.

Honorable Mention

1. Positano Risto

As most Italian foods may consist of non-halal ingredients, Positano Risto decided to share Italian food by building a restaurant that serves Italian food with halal ingredients only. This Italian restaurant is located at Block C1, Lot 2, Level G3, Publika Shopping Gallery, Solaris Dutamas, No. 1, Jalan Dutamas 1, 50480 Kuala Lumpur.

Positano Risto was born out of pure love for authentic Italian food by its Muslim owners, Imran and Kamilah. The first restaurant that they had was located at 66, Bussorah St, Singapore, which they opened in 2017. A year later, they opened a franchise at Publika, Kuala Lumpur and we only look forward to more branches soon!

Positano’s specialty will definitely be their scrumptious Super Supreme Calzone, which is not only baked to perfection but also comes with 8 handcrafted pockets filled with mushrooms and turkey hams. Though usually in Italian cuisine, chefs would use pork but here at Positano Risto, it is guaranteed halal and muslim-friendly! The homemade tomato sauce, topped with Buratta and Cheddar will make you rejoice for every bite you take.

Aside from their famous Calzone, they also serve other iconic Italian dishes such as pastas, Italian appetisers, and meat dishes like Beef Tagliata. Its for sure that this 100% Muslim-owned Italian Restaurant guarantees both satisfaction and Muslim-friendly authentic Italian flavors, so you can definitely munch away without worries!

The next on the list is not a restaurant but rather a chain. Not every district has a specialised pizza shop near me. There are also circumstances where not every person can afford luxury pizzas from other countries. We acknowledge that and that’s why we decided to include a chain restaurant in this post. Chain restaurants may not be as ‘fancy’ as many people would put it but it gets the job done.

When you’re sleeping in and lazy to go out they save you. So that’s why for the pizza in Malaysia we decided to dedicate this sector to Dominos pizza. Dominos pizza is a pizza chain founded in the US but has made it to all over the world and our country. It’s an understatement to say that Dominos is not a pizza restaurant. It has allowed millions of people who couldn’t afford a slice of gourmet pizza, a chance to try what a regular pizza tastes like.

2. Proof Pizza + Wine

Proof Pizza + Wine is a popular pizza restaurant located and was able to expand to two locations. The first being Bangsar and the other being in Mont Kiara. They have over 400 plus Google Reviews with a 4.5-star review. The store does pizza delivery in Malaysia and they do offer to take out. Currently, they close during the lunch hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for lunch. If you would like to order pizza online, you can do so https://proof.beepit.com/ordering/?type=delivery and place your orders there.

They will also do pizza delivery. Proof Pizza + Wine sells a variety of options on their menu such as appetisers, Kids Pizza, classic pizza, gourmet pizza, artisan pizza, Ciccio pizza, Grand Classic Pizza, Dessert, Raw Pasta, Bottled beer, sparkling wine and rose, red wine, and dessert wine. Even though the menu seems big, they do optimise what they sell and reuse the same ingredients in different ways.

They serve an array of pizzas such as a four-cheese pizza, a Carne pizza, Diavolo pizza, margherita, pizza Polpa di Granchio, La Americano, Spicy Calabrian Pizza, Sicilian Anchovy Pizza, Calzone, Serrano Ham Pizza and a whole other selection. Proof Pizza + Wine offers many dishes and they’re known for their wine desserts as well. They offer a big selection of wine for their consumers and the price for their wine online is 15% lesser than their in-store menu.

3. La Risata

Pizza’s can’t get more upscale unless you go to places like Mont Kiara or Damansara. You pay a dollar more for anything you buy there than in a place a few kilometres away, However, there is where La Risata Damansara is located and rightfully. With over 700 plus reviews on Google, they are one of the highest-rated pizza places in KL and could easily offer the best pizza in KL. La Risata is an Italian inspired restaurant and has two branches. One in Ampang while the other is in Damansara. La Risata is different from its competitors because is that it sells pizza that is baked in a traditional wood-fired oven. These rare ovens are not found around Malaysia and what more used for pizzas for us to try. No wonder people are flocking all over just to try their pizzas.

La Risata has several types of food served in their restaurant. They have a second course of meat, second courses of seafood, coffee, coffee with liquor, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, cocktails, mocktails, pizzas, appetizers, salads, soups, and a whole wine menu. In short, they serve a lot but they sure do know what they are doing.  If you’re looking for pizza in Kuala Lumpur, this would be it.

Their prices are definitely on the higher side but you’re definitely paying for the experience and the taste here. 5. Pezzo Pizza

To us West Malaysians, we know them but Pezzo isn’t a big deal here but in East Malaysia, Pezzo has made a name for itself. It has over 43 locations in East Malaysia alone which could put Domino’s pizza a run for its money. Pezzo also has been keeping up its sales by offering single slices for their customers to buy. No other pizza chain in Malaysia has offered its customers a single slice of pizza for them to purchase. By doing so, they allow even people from the lower-income bracket to try a pizza when they can afford it. Pezzo is known for its symmetrical pizza cutting in the advertisements which look satisfying.

Finally is Pezzo Pizza. Pezzo although not as big as dominos sells their pizzas at strategic locations such as KL Sentral and Setapak just to name a few. They sell around 10 -15 pizzas and each one is doing its own justice. They sell bbq bonanza, big daddy, cheesy cheese, hola Hawaiian, pepperoni party and around 8 more pizzas. Not to brag but Pezzo Pizza localises their menu, they even have a chicken rendang pizza for the locals as well as a singa laksa pizza. This allows Pezzo to have a loyal fan base whilst maintaining a new one.
